My Covid-19 Vaccine Experience

So, I had never actually planned on getting the vaccine. Yep, I’m one of those people. It had nothing to do with some wild conspiracy theory. I simply just didn’t want it. Deep down I was hoping they were correct in the beginning. You know, when they said give it two weeks. Well here we are about 1 and a half years since the start of the “pandemic”. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t struggle at all. Not just mental health, but financially too. I had just left my job to start my own business two months prior. Add to that a new car payment also and man I was FUCKED! Sorry I had to say it.

I never really planned on talking about this subject. I’ve actually avoided it on all social media because people are extremely bull headed on this. My “new” boyfriend being one of them. He’s a pharmacist, so he’s very pro-vaccine. No, he was not the one who pressured me into getting it. I made the choice all on my own. However that’s not why I’m here. I’m here to tell you of my experience getting the vaccine and how I felt afterwards.

I chose to get the Pfizer vaccine. Of course a few days after I received the first dose, they came out with news that the vaccine wasn’t as effective against Covid as they originally thought. My heart sank. Finally making that choice and then hearing that it could have been potentially for nothing was not what I expected. Anyways the first dose didn’t do much, but make my arm hurt slightly. Not enough to prevent me from doing daily activities. So, I had decided to just have my boyfriend give me the vaccine. Why not choose someone I know and trust?

That second dose though! I had a fever of at least 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit. I had about zero use if my arm. Even trying to take a cap off a bottle was proving to be difficult. I of course had all the side effects of a fever too. Body aches, chills, sweating, the works! I barely felt the first dose. The second dose however was given through a different needle, one he didn’t like. Unfortunately, he hit a blood vessel and I bled pretty bad. I also ended up with a gnarly bruise. One that’s still there almost two weeks later.

Apart from my fever, I also had pretty much laid on my couch all day. All I wanted to do was sleep. Boy did I sleep! That’s so not like me too. The less sleep I get the better. Anyways this was just a quick update on things. If I grow a tail or anything from getting the vaccine, I’m sure you guys will be the first ones I tell haha!!

Stay safe out there! All my love, Taylor
